Fish Creek flows through Woodforest’s three courses which are set amidst oaks and stately pines. In 2008, Golf Digest nominated Woodforest as one of Texas’s top 10 courses. The club’s southern-style clubhouse features a restaurant and full-service bar.

Woodforest will offer numerous amenities now in the planning or construction stages.

Forest Island: This tennis and swimming complex is scheduled to open by the 2011 swim season. The complex will be set in a wooded area and include a freeform pool, a toddler pool, and a competition size pool for laps. A plaza with a stone fireplace will provide a great picnic area. Children will enjoy the playgrounds and people of all ages will enjoy wooded trails throughout the complex.

The complex will include a tournament court with seating for the audience, a well as six other lighted tennis courts. The clubhouse will offer a fitness center and spaces for meeting and parties. An amphitheater is also planned.

Parks: Woodforest is devoting 700 acres to parks and recreation areas, including two lakes. Miles of bike and hike trails will lead through wooded areas and connect neighborhoods. The entire development is planned with the environment in mind; a 30-feet or larger forest barrier will be included along roadways, while Fish Creek Thoroughfare will have will 40 or 50 feet forest barriers. Many home sites will be wooded front and back. Home sites will not abut roads. Amenities, such as sports fields, will be nestled within wooded areas and designed to interfere with as little as possible with the area’s natural beauty.

Conroe Regional Medical Center provides a full service hospital to Conroe residents. This 360 bed hospital has 250 physicians on staff. The Women's Hospital of Texas has recently partnered with Conroe Regional to offer a wide-variety of obstetric and gynecological services to give quality care to women and babies close to home.

The Woodlands’ two major hospitals also serve the area.
